Where are you from?
I was born in Switzerland and moved to Upstate New York when I was nine. I’m half “gringa”!
How long have you been working with Investours?
For a little over a year.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’ve always loved to run, which is good because I also love to cook and eat. I’m also learning how to enjoy new activities, like yoga and surfing, that are readily available in the Puerto Vallarta region.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would you do?
Travel, of course! And donate to Investours and similar organizations.
What is your favorite Mexican food?
Oh, there is just so much good Mexican food that it’s hard to pick one…I really love fish tacos, though.
What is your favorite part of your work?
It’s hard to pick a favorite part of my work because my work is so varied. I’ve really enjoyed learning about the many tasks involved with running a small business. That said, the most gratifying part of my job is dealing directly with our clients. It’s an incredible feeling to witness how our clients and their situations change throughout the Investours process.
Describe a memorable moment in your work with Investours.
One of my favorite days with Investours was the day we hosted our Women Mean Business market. Many of our female clients were invited to have a table and sell their cultural products in this market. The Puerto Vallarta community really showed their support for our organization when they welcomed and celebrated these women. Almost all of our clients sold out of their goods, and everyone felt empowered and excited for the next market.
What destination are you dying to travel to?
What is the best movie you saw recently?
I was very impressed by “The Dark Knight Rises”, though that’s not typically the kind of movie I go for.
What is one fun fact about you?
I’ve never eaten meat! My family is vegetarian and meat has never been a part of my life. This, of course, makes it more challenging to eat out in Mexico.
Another fun fact about Elly: she appeared in a Mexican ad campaign for a language school! See the poster below. Sorry, Elly, we had to…
